Yaz Lancaster is a performer-composer and poet based in Brooklyn, NY. They are primarily interested in the performance of new/contemporary & underperformed works, collaboration and the representation of minorities in art. Always looking to expand their musical capabilities, Yaz performs in a wide variety of settings, from orchestras & contemporary ensembles to indie & steel bands. As a composer/writer, they like to attempt new things in every project. They hold a B.M. from New York University in violin performance & poetry, and are currently pursuing a M.M. at NYU where they study with Cyrus Beroukhim (violin), Joan La Barbara and Robert Honstein (composition). Yaz loves art museums, bubble tea & animated shows.
